2. Tanah Lot Temple

The temple is located just offshore in the south west of Bali on a rock. It's roughly a 30-40min drive by cab from Seminyak (ca. 120.000Rp. with metered Taxi). 10 Places to Visit in Bali that Will Amaze You

By Unknown → Sunday, 6 July 2014

Ingredients

  • 300 g (10 oz) skinned baneless snapper fillet
  • 300 g (10 oz) raw prawns, peeled
  • 2 cups freshly grated coconut, or 1½ cups dessicated coconut, moistened
  • ½ cup seafood spice paste (see recipe)
  • 5 fragrant lime leaves, cut in hair-like shreds
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns, finely crushed
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3-5 green bird's eye chillies, very finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • lemon grass, cut in 15 cm (6 in) lengths, for satay skewers

This is probably the most delicious satay you'll ever encounter. The delicate flavours of the prawn and fish are greatly improved. You can find spears of fresh lemon grass to use as skewers, and if you can cook them over a fire of coconut husks rather than charcoal. Nonetheless, even with wooden skewers and a standard charcoal grill, you will have people coming back for more.

By Unknown → Saturday, 5 July 2014

Two Shipwrecks in One Day?! Yes, really! Bali has a new shipwreck – it’s very conveniently located in Kubu, just north of Tulamben Bay (world-famous for the 120m USAT Liberty shipwreck).

Now named 'Relax Bal', the 150 ton boat is over 38m in length, and was built in Holland in 1952. More recently used as an Indonesian government patrol boat, it was sunk last month to create an artificial reef … aiming to attract both marinelife and divers!

AMD-B is offering a "Two Shipwrecks in One Day" (2S1D) Day Trip – for the same price as our usual Tulamben Bay Day Trip: USD100, until further notice.

What a wonderful day: Relax Bali: A totally intact boat and the USAT Liberty in Tulamben Bay: Beautifully encrusted with hard and soft corals; home to a wide variety of marinelife.
